A Geek’s Victory

I love Geek Monthly magazine. It gives me a nice eclectic set of articles that more-often-than-not fit well with my personal interests. Big surprise… I know.
Unfortunately, G.M. and I had a little go around regarding a new benefit they’ve started offering with their subscriptions. Below is a transcript of the little customer service [...]

Thamn Bee Thung Zee in the Mouph

I’m standing in the water getting ready to catch Little Whirlwind for the 100th time when my bee radar starts buzzing.
There he is. A big, healthy, bumbler headed directly for my nose. “Whoa! Shit!” I sank as quickly as possible into the water. Mouth ready to go under, I opened for that final breath of [...]

People actually make this stuff up

I get the RSS feed from Snopes.com and found this tidbit today about Obama.
At this point, I’m pretty sure I’ll vote for Obama if given the opportunity in November, but I’m not a rabid fanboy as are some. However, the completely fictional quotation claiming to explain the fact that he doesn’t wear an American flag [...]

Amazon Thinks I Need a New Hobby

I’m done buying clothes!
If you’re on the verge of panic, please relax. I’m not planning to become a nudist. yet
Through a miracle of modern technology I’ve discovered a dummies book on reconstructing clothes, and I’ve decided to give up Geeking in favor of modifying my old clothes into contemporary styles. I’m so excited I [...]

Rant – WTF: Parent Observation

Yesterday, MrsW, G-ma, AuntieM, and I took LittleWhirlwind to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes, a buffet style salad-bar restaurant. My son loves this place because it has all of his favorite foods (fruit, noodles, croutons, and ice-cream), and he doesn’t have to wait for service.
My son didn’t notice, but my wife and I were pretty shocked [...]
