Constant Caramel and Fun Dip

Little Whirlwind has quite a vocabulary for a four year old, but lately he has been popping out with some zingers that I thought needed to be shared with the world….

I have been teaching LW about instant karma. You know, the idea that if you do good things, good things will come to you, but if you are bad, bad things will happen to you. LW has been a little physical in his reactions recently and over the weekend we had two instances where I told him something he didn’t like and his reaction was to try to kick me. Coincidentally, he suffered minor accidents (a bumped head and a scraped knee, no paramedics involved) after each incident. Both times I said, “See, instant karma. It gets you every time.” This response was met with sniffs and a turned up nose.On Saturday, we were playing and LW said a few choice bad words – stupid, poop, etc – I pulled him off the counter where he had been perched and marched him towards his timeout chair. As i turned back into the living room, I stubbed my toe on the wall. The comment from the timeout chair? “See Mom, constant caramel!”

Mrs.W: Hi Sugar, slide over so I can sit next to you.
LW: Mom, why do you call me Sugar?
Mrs.W: Because you’re so nice and sweet
LW: (After pausing for a moment) Mom, just call me Fun Dip!
Ahhh…out of the mouths of babes!

These are great! Thanks for the laugh. He is getting to be wise beyond his years…I think LW as a nickname will need to be updated to Little Sponge…
